PDR technicians use specialized tools to massage the dent from the inside of the vehicle's panel, gently pushing the metal back into its original shape. PDR is often used as an alternative to traditional body repair methods, as it is less time-consuming, less expensive, and does not require repainting the affected area, thus restoring the value of the vehicle rather than lowering it. It is most effective on dents that are smaller than the size of a basketball and located on flat panels of the vehicle, such as doors, hoods, and fenders.
